As far as processes go, this is the most magical part of the entire HPL manufacturing process. During this stage, the various layers are subjected to extreme temperatures and pressures (approximately 150°C/300°F and 1000 PSI). Under these conditions, the layers melt into a single, homogeneous sheet. In essence, the “high-pressure” in high-pressure laminate refers to the temperature and pressure needed to bond the individual layers of the HPL board into a single, continuous sheet.
